Synopsis

Chicagoland is an eight-episode documentary series focusing on the political scene in modern-day Chicago. The show used three camera crews to collect more than a thousand hours of footage of several notable Chicago figures doing their respective jobs in City Hall, within the school system, and at the Chicago Police Department.
The main focus of the show is Mayor Rahm Emmanuel, who has to deal with the realities of running a major American city that is facing financial difficulties and an escalating problem with crime.
Fenger High School principal Elizabeth Dozier attempts to run her South Side school while facing budget cuts and the often violent environment her students must contend with.
Chicago PD Superintendent Garry McCarthy deals with gang activity, general crime, and security concerns during major events in the city.
